Meet the Teacher

I am married to Lee and we have three boys aged 13, 10 and 7. I am a licensed  Kindermusik Educator, qualified teacher and a busy Mum and wife!

I have always been passionate about music and started to learn the recorder when I was 5 years old. I was selected to sing solo for the county at a big (and somewhat scary) event when I was 7 and have never looked back! Whilst at junior school, I took up the ‘cello and guitar and at secondary school added flute and euphonium to my repertoire. I played in school orchestras and ensemble groups and was selected to sing for the county youth choir when I was 13. I  achieved grade 6 and 7 in the instruments I played and grade 5 in music theory; I completed my music studies with a GCSE in Music.

I still enjoy music and I am lead vocalist in my local church worship  band where we play a variety of instruments and styles, from traditional to  heavy rock! I also enjoy singing with my local theatre company choir.

I am a qualified school teacher, having graduated with a BSc(Hons) degree in Biochemistry and a PGCE and have worked as a science teacher at secondary school  level for a number of years. During my school career I have also been  co-producer and director of several school productions, including The Wizard of Oz and the  very challenging Jesus Christ Superstar. I have also worked as a Registered Childminder for many years and have been a Toddler Group Leader; I really enjoy  working with young children and their families.

Kindermusik gives me the opportunity to combine my musical, scientific and teaching skills in a way where I can inspire young children to develop a love of  music and empower Parents and Carers to help provide their children with the best start possible in their learning journey, developing skills that will be so important to them as they progress through life. As a teacher I need to be certain that the curriculum I offer is educationally sound and of the highest quality and Kindermusik does just that. I am confident in the materials I am able to provide to families, and above all it is so much fun.

I am really looking forward to meeting you and your little one soon!
